1 of my subscribers: http://www.youtube.com/Electro... ,sent me a couple of "bugs." One was unassembled, so Jeff and I put it together and had a couple of drag races with them in the dark. I snuck the faster "eeprom" chip (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) in when Jeff wasn't looking and beat him bad! ( J Tiberius Kirk did it too) but I decided to tell Jeff anyway, and we had a run off race."Do you know what the snail said to the other snail while sitting on a turtle's back, just as the turtle started to move?"Hold on, here we go!"These robot bugs are very educational, use common parts from old servos, and Radio Shack. They would make a great science project for any age. They are also very fun to play with. The kit came with complete and thorough instructions and software to program the chip. I am impressed and my hat is off to you Reuben. Thanks for the fun while we wait out the winter up here.Mr. Reuben Rowan is the Electron teacher on youtube and welcomes email to ask him about his projects or kits. He is rrrowan@yahoo.comThanks for watching and subscribing.Dave HerbertNightflyyer

Heathkit :) unfortunately they are gone now? :( I have one of those old boards that was a little test set it had a simple breadboard and a keypad and some other random switches and stuff it was really cool.

Hey, they are talking about your bug on TV news, saying how it could be used to aid in rescues. At least it looks like your little bug and moves the same way.

Oh Dave:Regarding the viewer's $15 shipping chg comment, that apparently was for some destination overseas! I have been using the USPS Priority Pagake Rate for the US,which is $4.95, and I have been payingthat out of my own pocket! Also, I think that I should mention you only featured the BUG, and have no connection to itspricing. Thanks Dave, your a great friend.ElectronTeacher

Hi Dave:I've been induated with e-mails, so I have been very busy. However, I would like to comment about the BUG being pricey! For what parts are provided, as well as prep-labor, it is actually a real deal!! Also, the 40 page assembly manual is free! The parts are not marked up, and the PCB assembly, or any other prep work is not charged for! I e-mailed out a parts/ price list to viewers that docu- mented how the $85 price was deter-mined. Thanks, ElectronTeacher

Hi dave, I recently mailed the guy who sells them, unfortunatly their a bit expensive for my, 85 bucks, complete + about 15 for shipping so, kind of a shame, because their really cool :D |
